As parents, we’ve all been there — it’s late at night, your child doesn’t feel well, and you’re wondering whether to wait until morning or reach out to the doctor. At Treehouse Pediatrics in Logan, we understand how stressful those moments can be. That’s why our team offers an on-call pediatrician to help you navigate urgent health concerns outside of regular office hours.

Whether you prefer to call or text, our experienced providers are just a message away. We’re here to help you decide what your child needs — whether that’s home care, an urgent visit, or immediate medical attention.

When to Call or Text the On-Call Pediatrician

Some symptoms are serious enough that they shouldn’t wait until morning. You should contact our on-call pediatrician if your child has:

  • Trouble breathing or fast breathing that doesn’t improve
  • High fever, especially in babies younger than 3 months
  • Signs of dehydration, such as dry lips, sunken eyes, or few wet diapers
  • Extreme irritability, confusion, or difficulty waking up
  • Seizures, stiff neck, or severe headache
  • A spreading rash with fever or bruising
  • Severe pain (abdominal, joint, or injury-related)
  • Heavy bleeding or a possible broken bone

Our on-call provider will listen to your concerns, ask questions, and guide you on the next best step — whether that means visiting the emergency room, coming in the next day, or continuing care at home.

When It’s Okay to Wait Until Morning

Not every illness needs a late-night call. Mild cold symptoms, runny noses, low-grade fevers, and minor stomach bugs often improve with rest and fluids. If your child is alert, drinking fluids, and generally acting like themselves, you can usually wait until the next day to call the office.

Peace of Mind for Parents

You know your child best, and your instincts matter. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to reach out — even if you’re unsure whether it’s urgent. Our goal at Treehouse Pediatrics is to give you peace of mind and keep your child healthy and safe.

You can call or text us anytime at (435) 213-3970. Our caring pediatricians in Logan, Utah are here for you every step of the way — day or night!
